For the Meatloaf:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 2 lbs ground beef (I use 85/15)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1-2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
For the Sauce:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1: Place all of the meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl and mix well using your hands. Add anything else like cheese, seasonings, or veggies to your loaf and try something new! Be careful you don’t over-mix the meatloaf or it will end up tough.
2: Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a well-greased bread pan. I like using a pie pan, I shape my loaf circular and not as thick as it would be in the bread pan.
3: Make the sauce by combining the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread half of the sauce over the meatloaf. Experiment with your sauce!!!
4: Bake your meatloaf in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove it from the oven to add the second half of the sauce and then bake it for 45 more minutes. The internal temperature of the loaf should be 160 degrees when it’s fully cooked. Let your meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing & serving.
