Tales From The Fenceline

Get outta there! There’s not enough for both of us!

We bought our house almost exactly 5 years ago. We looked at quite a few places and nothing really spoke to us. I found this one on Zillow and immediately knew it was right. It had been listed for quite sometime so we were a bit concerned there was a problem with it and why it hadn’t sold.

We had been put in contact with a realtor through my husband’s relocation group at work. It was the first piece of our little bit of heaven coming together. She ultimately has become my best friend here (HI BFF!! ❤), crazy stories abound. But those are for another time 😆.

The yard is a huge L shape yard, bordered by a white fenceline. Little did we know how vital that fenceline would become to our peace and relaxation during times of stress and conflict. Everything good happens at the fenceline. It is a place to blow off steam, chat, feel the sun and the wind, listen to a book or read, take a mental vacation.

When I started this blog, another close friend commented, “Here is an idea – Tales From the Fenceline”, she knows we spend a lot of time there and loves to hear how we solve the world’s problems at the fenceline. So I am sure there will be other chapters “From the Fenceline”.

We’ve been drawn more and more to the fenceline as of late, quarantine has made us especially thankful for our large yard to get out into. The birth of Spring promises us there is more to come, warmth and new life. I am anxious for the lilacs and fruit trees to bloom but we are still fighting with Father Winter and his one last cold snap. The rhubarb is coming up nicely though, so pie is on the radar!

Today, plans are to fight Father Winter and grill out again. Remember the ribs, I mentioned in an earlier post? I must be in a fighting mood today because Father Winter and The Big Green Egg and I are going to wrestle. And I am determined to win on both fronts!
