So, I have been a bit busy lately. I sort of lost track of the day and realized I have been absent. With the weather turning a bit nicer, I’ve been outside a bit and that in turn has kicked up my allergies. I love Spring but – ugh! The allergies!

I also have still been trying to master the sourdough. It has been quite the challenge. But I am finding some new ways to use it – this week I had some over-ripe bananas and made some delicious and moist banana bread. I added a 1/2 cup discard starter to my regular recipe and some mini chocolate chips this time.

I am still struggling with getting the sourdough bread right, I think it’s just not warm enough to rise properly. It always looks great on the outside but the inside is still tight and a bit gummy. Next attempt I plan on putting it in the oven (cold oven) and turning the light on, just to give it some warmth and see if I can get a better rise on it. It has fantastic flavor, just not the crumb I am looking for.

Also, I will save you all the mumbo jumbo and techy words as to the why, but I have decided that I will be moving this blog. It’s been complicated figuring it all out but I am going to try to move all email subscribers manually to the new website so you will continue to get email notifications, you may get an email asking for a verification.
